How does the event lifecycle work?
Each event moves through draft, upcoming, live and ended (or cancelled), based on Nepal time. Registration stays open while the event is live, so walk-ins can register at the venue, and closes after the event ends.
How does gate check-in work?
Gate staff log in with their own accounts and are assigned to gates. They scan passes with a phone camera; the scanner flags passes that are already used and shows gate notes such as "check student ID". Organizers see check-ins, check-outs and a live count of people inside the venue. More detail is in our guide to QR code tickets and gate check-in.
How do payments work on Eventlaya?
The organizer chooses, per event, how attendees pay: online with Khalti or eSewa, at the venue, or either, where online payments are enabled. Individual ticket types can be set to online only.
- Online: tickets are held for a few minutes while the attendee pays, and the pass is issued only after Eventlaya has confirmed the payment with Khalti or eSewa. Unpaid passes are refused at the gate.
- At the venue: the pass shows the amount due, and gate staff see what to collect when they scan it.
- Money and refunds: online payments are collected through Eventlaya's merchant accounts and paid out to the organizer; refunds are handled by hand and recorded on the organizer's Payments page.
